- feeling bad at life on unmotivated days
- a season of waiting while her son with disabilities was receiving diagnosis
- being under the influence of social media
Using her own struggles with weakness, Emily guides you away from turning to yourself and turns you instead to the comforting arms of your creator.
Each devotion in He Is Strong begins with applicable Scripture and concludes with additional Bible readings and questions for reflection.

Taking ‘Expectant Action’
Emily beautifully pointed out how the story of Moses helps us see that we can move forward, even with fear and even when we feel inadequate, because we know that we don’t go alone. Emily said:
“I love the idea that you don’t have to be fearless to move forward. You can take what I like to think of as expectant action. You can say, I am walking forward in this, but I’m also expecting that God is going to be with me, and he’s going to provide for me. He knows my frame, he knows my capacity, he’s aware of all of that stuff, and yet he’s going to be with me anyways.“
