I got to be a guest on the Girl Defined show this week, talking about biblical submission in marriage.

I’m so grateful for the good work that Kristen and Bethany, the founders of Girl Defined, are doing. They are brave and unwavering in a world that pushes back on the truth—especially the truth about femininity, gender, womanhood, sexuality, and submission in marriage. Yet these are the topics Girl Defined goes after on a daily basis. I’m so proud of them, and honored that Kristen asked me to have a conversation about submission.

It’s not an easy message. It’s certainly not popular. (Just check the comments on social media.) But it’s part of God’s beautiful design for wives, so we want to examine it and live by it and hold it up as lovely.

“The Truth about Biblical Submission in Marriage”

Here’s the episode summary on Girl Defined:

Biblical submission has been misunderstood and abused by many throughout history. Should we toss the biblical term OR strive to understand it in the way God intended? Is biblical submission still relevant for modern women?

In today’s conversation, we brought on Shannon Popkin to help us with this difficult topic. She a Bible teacher, wife, mom and amazing mentor to many. She brings truth and light to the reality of biblical submission in marriage.
