What are you waiting on God for?
God’s promises are like a set of parentheses. The first parenthesis is when he makes the promise and the second is when he keeps the promise. You never have one without the other. However, there is often far more space between the parentheses than we expect.
That’s what we see in the life of Sarah, wife of Abraham. Months, then years, then decades slipped by after God makes the promise that they’ll have a large family. Could God keep his promise? Would he?
Join me for a 6 week Bible study of Genesis 12-21 and learn how—like Sarah, God wants your life to be shaped by his promises.
WEEK 1: People of the Promise
WEEK 2: Betrayal and Rescue
WEEK 3: Shame and Control

Do you live like the promises will come true?
My name is Shannon Popkin, and I’m so glad you’re here. As an author, speaker and podcaster, my passion is to invite you to open your Bible with me, drink in the Story and live like it’s true.
But I have to be honest. I don’t always live like God’s promises will come true. I might say God always keeps his promises, but when I’m melting in fear or impatiently grabbing for control, my life is saying otherwise.
As you open the pages of Shaped by God’s Promises, get ready for me to be brutally honest about my fears and control issues—and I’ll invite you to consider your own heart as well. There might be tears. We’ll laugh together, too. And ultimately, we’ll find God to be faithful.
Are you ready to be transformed by the God who makes promises and keeps them? I can’t wait for you to be shaped by God’s promises.
