Why questions? God modeled question-asking. He often used questions to invite individuals to weigh their own hearts. We can’t force anyone to surrender, but we can invite them to join us as we do so, ourselves. Our questions accomplish two things: they let the other person know there’s a problem and they invite her to surrender.
